about us

Welcome to Edinburgh New Town Church of Scotland

Our church is a beautiful building with an important architectural and historic heritage, placed in the centre of a historic and “well-set” city.

It combines a peaceful sanctuary space with lively and energetic activities. In addition to Sunday worship, the church is usually open every day Monday to Friday for prayers and a peaceful space.

We have a famous Christian Aid Sale every year, play host as a Fringe venue and have other events throughout the year.

Other activities include study and social groups, an ecumenical partnership and inter-faith links, crafts and recycling and campaigning on issues affecting the world.

Edinburgh New Town Church is an Affirming Congregation, affirms the rights of LGBTQ people to play a full part in the life of the Church; and an Eco-Congregation, striving to reduce its environmental impact and to care for the world.

Edinburgh New Town Church is a congregation of the Church of Scotland. In our parish grouping we work with Broughton St Mary’s Church and are members of the ecumenical partnership Edinburgh City Centre Churches Together
