Book Festival Fringe at St Andrew’s and St George’s West
Our 2013 Book Festival Fringe explored the theme of Life and Faith in Scotland.
Leading Scottish authors, poets and dramatists engaged with audiences on the subjects of belief and story, drama and poetry. Thanks to everyone who took part.
Children’s Day at the 2013 Book Festival Fringe
Classes from Dalry and Stenhouse Primary Schools took part in our first Children’s Day.
Younger children were enthralled by storytelling from Aileen Paterson, creator of Maisie, the kilted cat from Morningside. Maisie related her adventures and Aileen drew pictures.
This inspired the children to create Maisie drawings, paintings, models and stories back in the classroom.
Older children took part in a Creative Writing Workshop led by author Marianne Wheelaghan. Marianne showed them how to find ideas for writing and how to develop them into a short narrative.
Work from both sessions was later displayed at St Andrew’s and St George’s West.
